Prepared with itchydog.vet, created by Dr. Steve Pelton, DVM, Hearthstone Animal Clinic, Cypress, Texas.

General education, not veterinary advice. This report is what an owner logged at home, next to public pollen and weather data for their ZIP code. It isn't a diagnosis, and it doesn't replace an exam.

What lines up with the itch

No clear pattern yet between Biscuit's itch and the pollen or weather. That's worth knowing too. Itch that doesn't follow the seasons can point your vet toward other causes, like food or fleas.

Biscuit's medicine changed during these weeks, so the report only compares days on the same routine, and there aren't enough of those yet. A medicine change moves the itch far more than the weather does. Lumping the before and after together would make the weather look like it matters when it may not.

These patterns come from Biscuit's own check-ins lined up against the pollen and weather in your ZIP. They show what moves together, not what causes the itch. Bring them to your vet as a starting point for the conversation.

Each column is one day. The top row is how itchy the owner said the dog was, from 1 (Chill) to 5 (Miserable). Underneath, on the same days, are the Itch Risk score, the tree, grass and weed pollen counts (Google's Universal Pollen Index, 0 to 5), mold risk and rain for the dog's ZIP. An empty column means nobody checked in that day. It's left empty on purpose, not filled in.

Itch Risk is itchydog.vet's 0 to 10 score for a ZIP code. It starts from the highest of the tree, grass and weed pollen counts, then adjusts for wind, rain, humidity and heat. It describes the conditions outside, not any one dog.

Mold risk is high when it rained the day before and the humidity stays above 75%. It's moderate after rain, or when the humidity is above 65%.

Itch scale: 1 Chill, 2 A little scratchy, 3 Itchy, 4 Really itchy, 5 Miserable.
